Complete description of site

The Joseph-Lhomenède Museum of Resistance, Deportation and the Second World War is located in the former Frugières le Pin station, a few kilometers from the town center.

Striking for the wealth of its collections, the museum houses rare, even unique, objects from the 1939-45 period. In the midst of weapons of the period, newspapers, posters, objects, documents and uniforms, the visitor is plunged into the world of occupied France. Among the unique objects is to be found the flag of the Dachau concentration camp. The visitor is plunged into the France of the 1940s, the occupier, collaboration, the maquis and resistance, not to mention internment camps, hostages, executions and deportation. A France where the Milice battled the army of the shadows. Outside, a huge hangar houses forty-odd Second World War vehicles (jeeps, wreckers, Dodges), landing barges and even train cars that transported deportees.
