Bust of Charles Seignobos which was removed from its pedestal in 1942 by the Vichy government in order to melt it down to satisfy the German army's need for metal. Two resistance leaders found the statue in Grenoble and hid it, then put it back on its pedestal in September 1944, which occasioned public outburst of approval.
