The Chaumargeais Memory Tree, carried out and installed in 2010 by the Friends of Old Tence, commemorates the commitment of inhabitants in caring for Jewish refugee families. Between 1940 and 1945, more than a hundred people found haven in Tence, whether in the town or in outlying hamlets and isolated farms. The monument's commemorative character is asserted by a reference to the tree at the synagogue in Budapest.
