Saint-Nizier-du-Moucherotte

Nécropole de la Résistance

National Resistance Cemetery at Saint-Nizier-du-Moucherotte. The cemetery was constructed for the resistants and a few regular army who died in World War II, on the site of combat that took place from June 13-15, 1944, to preserve the memory of 98 resistants (including 17 graves of unknown combattants, in some of which more than one body rests). There are two such cemeteries in the Vercors massif: one at Saint Nizier and one at Vassieux en Vercors, constructed in 1947 and 1948.
