Stèle commémorative

Stone marker in memory of  André Lassagne on the square that bears his name. Having been active in the Resistance as early as 1940, he was arrested with several other resistants including Jean Moulin and Bruno Larat on June 21, 1943 at Dr Dugoujon's house nearby. He was first sent to the Natzwiller-Struthof concentration camp, then transferred to the Brieg camp, then to the prison at Leignitz, to the Gross-Rosen camp, and finally to the Flossenburg camp, where he stayed three months.
