The Fort de la Duchère was used as a barracks for the Mobile Reserve groups, a security agency set up by Vichy. The moats were venues for the execution of resistants. The monument is made up of a large black stone slab laid out flat, and decorated with crossed French flags, together with three plaques on the wall of the Fort, where numerous executed resistants are listed.
