Starting on May 15, 1942, he worked with a free group of Liberation in the Croix-Rousse. Later he was in charge of organizing a maquis in Drôme, and was appointeed to head a section of the FTPF (Franc-Tireurs et Partisans - one of several resistance organizations). Informed upon for possessing weapons, he was murdered on February 20, 1944 at his home in Lyon, 10 rue Perrod.
