Plaque commémorative
Plaque in memory of Paul Gachet, an activist in the (illegal) French Communist Party from July 1942. He gave up his employment to work full time for the Party and for the Communist Youth. Later, when he was assigned to a FTPF (Franc-Tireurs et Partisans - one of several resistance organizations) group, he participated in several commando operations. After he was turned in by an informer, he was arrested on February 10, 1943, by the French police, who found weapons in his cellar. He was executed by firing squad in Dijon on May 26, 1943.
