Plaque in memory of André Deglise-Favre. In June 1940, at the armistice, he was appointed interpreter for the Italian armistice commission. In 1942, he earned a BA in law, then, under the pseudonym "Bartoli", enlisted in the Resistanc in the Maurienne valley. In the spring of 1943, he narrowly escaped arrest and had to flee to England in the night of July 24-25 from the "Figue" airfield in Ain. He was named captain in London.
In August 1943, a Lysander dropped him off near Limoges, where he became head of the Landings and Parachute Drops section under the name of "Mario-Napoleon Stefani".

On November 2, 1943, he was arrested by the Feld-Gendarmerie during a meeting. He killed himself in prison the next day so as not to talk under torture.
