Commemorative plaques in a wire-screened recess at the foot of the obelisk-shaped monument to the dead, on a base surrounded by a low shrubbery.
The plaque in the rear reads thus: "The town of Meaudre salutes its children who gave their lives for France, 1939-1940: Jasserand Marius, Vercors 1944, Repellin Marius, Repellin Jules, Repellin Noel, Portat Louis, Rochas Pierre, Ravix Pierre, Perrin Maurice, Walpersvyler Paul [...]".
The other plaques read, from left to right:
"The Vercors Pioneers to their comrade Marcel Pereto (Chicago), gave his life for France at 38."
