Complete description of site

The Départemental Museum of Resistance and Deportation and the Deportation Memorial are located at Morette, where there is also a National Cemetery; they are administered by the Département of Haute-Savoie.

The Museum was created in what had been a mountain shepherd's house by survivors of Glières, and addresses the history of the Second World War in Haute-Savoie together with elements evoking more specifically the Maquis in Glières and the liberation of Haute-Savoie. Interactive terminals provide additional depth to the visit and a projection room shows films about the history of Glières and the liberation of Annecy and the département.

The Memorial, founded by the Association of Deportees, Imprisoned and Families of Haute-Savoie goes over the history of the deportation of resistants and offers eye-witness accounts of Nazi concentration camps.
