Stele in memory of the three combatants FUJP Marcel Nallet, Aimé Bon and Rene Magdelaine. They died during the violent confrontations at the Hauteville quarries on July 12 and 13, 1944.

Stele in memory of the three combatants FUJP Marcel Nallet, Aimé Bon and Rene Magdelaine. They died during the violent confrontations at the Hauteville quarries on July 12 and 13, 1944.

On july 11, 1944, the Treffenfeld operation was launched by the German against the maquis of the Ain and of the Haut-Jura.The Feltin compagny, alongside the fifth FUJP (Forces Unies de la Jeunesse Patriotique - Patriotic Youth United Forces ) company, were given the mission to hold the Lèbe pass in order to slow down the German offensive. The fighting on july 12 led to four Resistance fighters death. The same day, the squad leaders Marcel Nallet and René Magdelaine, as well as the soldier Aimé Bon were taken prisoner by the Germans. They were executed the next day along the road to Brénod, in Chevillard, in the Ain.

They were buried in the military cemetery of Bourg-en-Bresse. Their names also appears on the war memorial of Bourg-en-Bresse. They were awarded of the title "Déporté et interné résistant" ("Deported and Resistant internee"). All three were honored with the mention "Mort pour la France ("Died for France"). René Magdelaine was posthumously elevated to the rank of "adjuvant" ("Master Sergeant") of the French Internal Resistance.

Inscription: "Nallet Marcel, Bon Aimé, Magdelaine René, 5th group FUJP, executed by the Nazis, July 13, 1944."
